Community Care Services
CareChoice understands that people need different levels of overnight care. We offer two types of overnight care – active care and inactive care – to provide assistance and a sense of security overnight.
Inactive Care is for people who need a few hours of care before bed and the morning after. Over a 12 hour period, the support worker sleeps in your home and will be available to support you when and if required before, during and after the inactive sleeping period.
For some people, having a carer stay overnight provides peace of mind and security so they can wake up fresh, well rested and with good company to start the new day.
Active care involves continuous active support throughout the night. The carer will not have a designated sleep time and provides assistance when required.
24 hour care services are designed to meet individual care needs and requirements. This low, medium or high level of care typically includes a combination of care services such as meal preparation, personal care, social support, home care, medication support and appointment keeping as well as general support and safety supervision.
24 hour care may be suitable if family members are not nearby or in a position to assist with care. This is also a reassuring option for holiday periods, respite periods, extended travel or overnight stays due to specialist medical appointments.
