Respite: caring for the carer

Families take great pride and joy in providing care to their loved ones so that they can remain in their homes, but the physical, emotional and financial consequences can be overwhelming without some form of respite. A break for the family caregiver is beneficial to the health of the caregiver and their support network. Interestingly, there is also much evidence to suggest that respite can be a positive experience for the person receiving care.

In the long term, respite has been shown to help improve caregiver wellbeing and health as well as delaying or avoiding residential aged care.

If you are providing day-to-day care for someone you care about, contact us to find out about our many levels of support.
